Planning Guide

How to Get Started

  • Organize your photos in chronological order, or however you want them to appear in the movie
  • Decide on how long you would like your DVD to run.  This may be decided by how many pictures you have to use, the number of songs you have and their lengths, or the amount of time you have to show the DVD at your event.
  • Choose the mood for your DVD.
    • Decide if you want it to be funny, sentimental or a little of both, then choose the music
    • The number of pictures per song can vary.  If you want your pictures up for 7 seconds, simply divide the length of the song by 7.  If you prefer, give us your pictures and we'll use our creative skills and experience to produce an incredible DVD that flows with your music.
  • Decide if you would like captions with any of your photos.  We can add names, quotes and/or any additional text to your photos.
  • Have an idea of how you would like your Menu/Sub-menus organized
    • Some good ways to get ideas are to look at the menus of the DVD movies you have purchased.
    • For example: on a Graduation DVD the main menu might have Play, Special Features, Outtakes, Scene Selection
      • Play - would play the full length slideshow
      • Special Features - may have a sports slideshow, extra-curricular activity, a special mom/dad, best friend and any other special section you may want on your video (these can be included in the main video or separated, whichever you choose).
      • Outtakes - may show special clips from friends and family reminiscing on their favorite memory of you growing up, or a video clip of them wishing you the best as you continue your journey
      • Scene Selection - would give you the option to choose the chapters you would like to see.

Tips on submitting Pictures

  • Don't Crop your pictures.  Cropping your pictures could affect the way a picture fills the screen.
  • Landscape pictures look better than portrait pictures because they fill the entire screen, but both can be used.
  • Choose your favorite memories.
  • If you have several pictures that are sort of the same – choose your favorite
    • You want to hold the audience's attention so you may not want to include all of them

Sports – We can create a DVD for your child, or the entire team. Take pictures from the whole season to create a long lasting keepsake for the players, parents, and coaches to enjoy for years to come.

Wedding – We can create a memorable walk through the day you became husband and wife. We can include all the moments that meant so much to you on your special day. We can also create an engagement video for you to share with family and friends to tell them the story from the day you met to the day you say "I do".

Anniversary – We can create a walk down memory lane to show the wonderful life that the two of you have created and shared through the years.

Birthday – We can create anything from that special 1st birthday video to a treasured 50th birthday video. We can be very creative and have fun with a Sweet 16 video...we'll just use our imagination. The possibilities are endless.

Grandparent's/Mother's/Father's Day – These are wonderful presents that are priceless. Any parent loves to see pictures of their children/grandchildren; and what better way than on a DVD, along with their favorite music.

Graduation – How fast they grow up? A graduation video is a wonderful way to show how far they have already come. They can take the DVD off to college or off into the real world.

Vacation – Creating a vacation DVD is the best way to always remember your family vacations. Relive all those special memories that you treasure so much.

In order for us to use copy-written music on your DVD, you must supply the original CD. By submitting an order form and agreeing to our terms of service, our customers agree that they have purchased and possess their own original copy of all music used on their DVD.
